●●●Ransui’s Sumi-e and Calligraphy Classes:
Hello, everyone. How are you? Welcome to Ransui sumi-E and Japanese Calligraphy class!!. I am  Japanese calligrapher and sumi-e (ink painting) painter and teacher whose professional artist name is “Ransui.” I have been introducing the true beauty of Sumi-e and Japanese calligraphic art through my classes in Tokyo for a very long time. Having lived in London, it is my pleasure to offer classes in English. With enthusiasm, it is my mission to share the spirit of Sumi-e and calligraphy.
Lectures and teaching include full instructions in how to create a work of art beginning with basic strokes, how to hold the brush, what materials to use, and the history of these Japanese arts, among many other topics.
I do hope that many foreigners who are interested in Sumi-e or Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy:The Way of the Brush) will be able to
spend enjoyable hours learning and experiencing the Ink Arts and making your own original Sumi-e and Calligraphy. It is my hope that through this process, you will be able to better understand and appreciate Japanese culture and the way of Asian art.

Location: Ransui’s Sumi-e & Japanese calligraphy class are offered in Omotesando and Ebisu Shibuya-ku in Tokyo.

●●●Class Course Offerings:
Sumi-e (Chinese black ink painting).
Calligraphy, traditional and modern style (abstract art).
Seal carving.

 

 

●●●Class Times:

Mondays through Fridays and Sundays from 11:00am to 9:00
pm. The school is closed on Saturdays.


●●●Class length:

One lesson is 90 minutes (one and half hours).
＊If you wish to schedule classes at times other than those above, it may be possible by mutual arrangement. Also, after you decide your available time to come, I will show you the possible class time schedule. Please feel free to ask for what you wish by e-mail.


●●●Class fees:
Sumi-e: 12,000 yen for four lessons a month.
Calligraphy: 11,550 for four lessons a month.
Entrance fee: 5000 yen payable at your first lesson.
Basic materials cost: 13,980 yen (tax included).

 

●●●The Place of our School

Our school is located at Ebisu and Omotesando, Shibuya-ku 

It takes only 5min from JR Ebisu and Subway Ginza Line Omotesando or Gaienmae STA.

If you are hesitant to enter fully into my school with regular lessons, I kindly request that you take an introductory class for 2000 yen for one hour at my studio scheduled at your convenience. Please request an introductory lesson, I will contact you with more information. After taking your introductory lesson, if you decide to join our regular classes at that time, we will forgo the cost of the introductory lesson (2000 yen) and discount the regular entrance fee from 5000 yen to 3000 yen.
